Dr James Bull

Dr James Bull is a highly skilled medical oncologist with over 12 years of clinical experience in both the public and private sectors of the Northern Rivers. In 2010, he established his own private practice at Oncology North Coast and has VMO appointments at Lismore Base Hospital, Grafton Base Hospital and St Vincents Private Hospital. 

Dr Bull completed his medical degree in Cape Town, South Africa before moving to Australia in 2003. He initially worked in Rockhampton, but in 2005 he moved to Newcastle to pursue his ambition of becoming a specialist in oncology. 

In 2009, Dr Bull worked for the ANZ Breast Cancer Trials Group, and is continuing to pursue research interests through active participation in Clinical Trials at Lismore base Hospital.  

Dr Bull ‘s clinical experience covers a broad range of solid adult tumour malignancies. His main interests now focus on the clinical management and improvement in outcomes for head and neck, thoracic and lung, upper gastrointestinal and breast cancers. James is an active participant in multidisciplinary meetings that provide treatment decision for these tumour types.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr Bull is passionate about teaching and mentoring oncology trainees and undergraduate medical students. He continues to provide a valuable contribution to the development of future oncologists.
