New McGrath Metastatic Breast Care Nurse Service

We would like to offer our metastatic breast cancer patients the support of a McGrath Metastatic Breast Care Nurse, Gabrielle Gardem (Clinical Nurse Consultant 2) is providing specialised care for those living with metastatic breast cancer.

The support of a McGrath Breast Care Nurse can substantially improve the quality of care by collaborating with doctors, surgeons, and other health professionals. They serve as a consistent source of information and contact throughout breast cancer treatment, making complex medical information easier to understand. With continuous support, they help minimize the stress and trauma that can accompany a breast cancer diagnosis.

A McGrath Breast Care Nurse is here to:

• Advocate for you and your family’s needs.
• Provide physical, emotional, and psychological support.
• Answer questions and clarify medical details.
• Coordinate care with the multidisciplinary team.
• Connect you to community resources and support.

This service covers the entire Northern New South Wales Local Health District (NNSWLHD). This includes all areas from Tweed Heads to Grafton, and as far west as Tabulam.
